FlowGPT creates GenAI app store for wild chatbot models

FlowGPT is an alternative to the OpenAI GPT store that, unlike the latter, allows chatbot creators to build their own GenAI-powered model apps based on popular generative AI models like Meta’s Llama 2, OpenAI’s DALL-E3, and Google’s Gemini. Provides facility.

While the OpenAI Store limits users to building chatbots based on what’s already available on the platform, FlowGPT lets chatbot creators go ahead with their creativity and build their own. Chatbots can also later be made available to the public, earning tips for their contributions.

Created by UC Berkeley computer science dropout Jay Dang and former Amazon engineering manager Lifan Wang, FlowGPT is described as an “ecosystem” for GenAI-powered apps – based on a marketplace and community of GenAI apps. A collection of frameworks and creator tools. the user. App users get a feed of recommended apps and app collections based on trending categories, while creators get options to customize the behavior of GenAI apps.

Interaction with GenAI apps is similar to a chat window, like in OpenAI, typing prompts, giving thumbs-up, or even sharing links to conversations. Each app comes with details about when it was created, how often it has been used, and which model is recommended for use.

Some of the apps on the platform are, unfortunately, jailbroken that are designed to bypass the model’s security measures, as well as some apps that claim to run malware code and dating simulators. While many of these can cause harm, especially to those who claim to be health professionals or providers, studies have already shown that ChatGPT may be less likely to seek specific resources for help regarding sensitive topics such as sexual abuse. Have rarely used referrals.

FlowGPT provides a toggle to filter ‘sensitive content’ with options to report apps that go against community guidelines. However, the page faces moderation problems.

“With millions of monthly users and fast growth rates, we have already proven that we are on the right track, and we believe it is time to accelerate progress,” says Dang. “We are setting a new standard for immersion in AI-powered environments, offering a world where creativity has no limits. , , [O]Our mission is to develop a more open and creator-centric platform.”
