Apple launches new 13-inch, 15-inch MacBook Air with M3 chip

Apple has unveiled its next-generation M3 MacBook Air range in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes. With the M3 chip, the devices will have faster CPU and GPU performance, an advanced Neural Engine, and 2x faster Wi-Fi, as well as the ability to connect to two external displays at the same time.

Available to order, the new MacBook Air range will ship from March 8th. The ability to connect to two external displays was a much-awaited feature in laptops.

This feature comes with a small catch, which does not allow the MacBook Air desktop to be connected to an external display without closing the laptop lid. If the lid is open, only one external display will function like the previous M1 and M2 models.

Being called “the world’s best consumer laptop for AI”, the M3 MacBook Air features a fast 8-core CPU combined with a 10-core GPU.

With a faster 16-core Neural Engine and advanced Wi-Fi 6E, the device will allow maximum theoretical download speeds that are twice as fast as the previous generation.

Similar to the M2 model, the laptop features a thin bezel screen with a camera notch cutout and a chassis with flat edges. Available in Midnight, Starlight, Space Gray and Silver, with an anodization seal to reduce visible fingerprints on the Midnight Colour.
